A television news anchor battling brain cancer in Illinois told his viewers that he has only 6 months to live, but plans to work as long as he can.

During a newscast Thursday, Dave Benton told viewers of WCIA-TV in Champaign that doctors recently told him that his brain tumor is too large for surgery or radiation. He will however attempt a new form of treatment in hopes of slowing down the growth of the tumor.

Benton says that he has been with the station for several years, and for him to come out and make such an announcement to the public says a lot about his passion for serving the people in Champaign, Ill. We will keep Dave and his family in our thoughts and prayers as he battles on in his final days.

So sad.
