Local News Anchor, Kristi Capel, Drops Racially Offensive Term During Live Broadcast [VIDEO]

During her Fox 8 morning show, WJW news anchor, Kristi Capel, dropped a racial slur live on air. A discussion about Lady Gaga's performance on the Oscar's seemed to be normal morning show banter until Capel uttered the word "jiggaboo" as an adjective to describe Lady Gaga's music. Her co-host, Wayne Dawson, had an interesting reaction—and by the time anyone realized the error it was too late. Some upset WJW viewers, along with the Twittersphere responded with heavy criticism. Channel 8 news director, Andy Fishman, addressed the issue.

We've spoken to her about this, and we're confident it won't happen again. From here, we'll handle it internally.

Capel has since apologized for her slur, claiming she didn't even know what the word meant.
