Late Thursday night, Jimmy Fallon and a few friends reportedly escaped being involved in a nasty brawl at a New York City bar located in the city's East Village area.

According to Page Six, Fallon and a group of friends were out celebrating at 10:30pm Thursday night after a taping of 'The Tonight Show.' The group showed up at Niagara Bar and was not welcomed by the regular patrons.

A source tells the site, "There was some hostility from some people at the bar. Jimmy was not the aggressor, but he was caught up in it. It was broken up and Jimmy and his friends immediately left."

Bar attendees tweeted and posted photos of Fallon and his crew being protected from the rowdy crowd. Nobody was reportedly injured in the fight that ensued and Fallon and his friends left minutes after it was clear that they weren't welcome.

We're not sure why New Yorkers wouldn't welcome one of the city's most popular figures but we're glad everyone is OK!
