Nicki Minaj Films Video for ‘Pound the Alarm’ in Her Homeland of Trinidad
While everyone was celebrating Independence Day (July 4), Nicki Minaj was in her homeland of Trinidad celebrating with the locals on her video shoot for ‘Pound the Alarm.’ As requested by her Barbz in an online voting poll, the Young Money rapstress is going ahead with the dance-pop single, much to the chagrin of Peter Rosenberg, we suspect.
Photos from the video set recently surfaced online and it looks like it was one heck of a party. Judging by the photos, it looks as if Minaj recreated carnivale in Trinidad with a big parade of female dancers and performers. In one pic, a blonde-haired Minaj is on a float dressed like a peacock with her fiery red feathers, black panties, fishnet stockings and gold heels. The video will also feature some of Trinidadian/Soca music’s biggest stars like Bunji Garlin, Fay-Ann Lyons and Machel Montano.
“Just wrapped an amazing video on an amazing island. #Trinidad #poundthealarm,” Minaj tweeted to her Barbz. “The heat in Trinidad is on another level. The girls in the vid are drop dead gorgeous & I’m not just saying it cuz I’m from here!”
The ‘Pound the Alarm’ video was directed by Benny Boom, who helmed Minaj’s previous video for ‘Beez in the Trap’ with 2 Chainz.
No word on when the video will hit the video channels, but when it does, we will pound the alarm.
