Nicki Minaj’s New Album Title and Tracklist Was Just a Joke

It's closing in on two years since Nicki Minaj last dropped an album. With no true signs that another LP is on the way anytime soon, fans are clamoring for any inkling of hope. Minaj recently decided to mess with fans by announcing a new project, complete with tracklist, on Twitter. It turns out, the Young Money First Lady was only fooling around.

Taking to Twitter Saturday night (Oct. 8), she posted, "Ok u know what I wasn't gonna say anything but damn ya got it out of me. The album drops at midnight. 🎀💋 it's called #PickMyFruitOut."

Of course, her Barbz started to lose their damn minds. Then she continued to tease, even throwing in a tracklist to boot. All the songs on said tracklist are named after fruits, with the track "Bananas" being specified as a (Harambe Interlude).

By this time, people were starting to realize it was a joke, but the hashtag #PickMyFruitOut had become a trending topic on Twitter. Meek's boo kept the party going. "The one I'm most excited about, however, is track #10. It's called Nigga toss my fruit salad and it features my favorite rapper of all time," she wrote.

Clearly just having fun with fans at the point, she added, "I been cryin laughin this whole time, btw... Good stuff."

As for the real album, fans are still patiently waiting.
