It's the Nile Rodgers resurgence and Renaissance. The guitarist, famous for his work and prominence during the disco era, has worked with Adam Lambert in the past, and now he's elbows deep in EDM. His latest collaborator? David Guetta!

Rodgers, who contributes his guitar skills to Daft Punk's lava hot 'Get Lucky,' has also lined up time with Avicii, whom he labeled "a genius writer." However, it's Guetta who recently got the juices flowing. Rodgers said his studio sesh with Guetta was "unbelievable" and lasted until the wee hours of the morning. We don't doubt it, bro.

"Last night, I was working with David Guetta writing a song," Rodgers, formerly of Chic, said. "It was unbelievable. We went until 2 in the morning, and Arthur Baker and Taylor Dayne popped by. It felt like it we were back in the '80s."

Taylor Dayne? Certain PopCrush staffers were just transported back to the sixth grade.

Rodgers continued, "We laughed and said, 'If this was the old days, we would take this rough mix and rush down to Paradise Garage and play it, see how it worked on the crowd before we finished the record.'"

Ah, those were the days. My, how dance music has changed.

That said, we cannot wait to hear the fruits of the Rodgers/Guetta labor. They represent two generations of dance music colliding and there is no way the result could turn out badly.
