Offset’s Solo Album to Address His Marriage and Car Crash

Over the last two months, the Migos' Quavo and Takeoff have unloaded solo albums. Now it's Offset's turn, and it's looking like his debut solo album will offer a lot of insight into the life of the Georgia rapper.

Speaking to Billboard about the new LP yesterday (Nov. 20), the 26-year-old explained that the new LP will find him discussing things like his marriage to Cardi B, his car accident and more.

"I'm talking about relevant situations that have occurred over the last 18 or 24 months, like me being in the crash, my kids, my family time and me being married," Offset explained. "There's different parts of my life. The ups and downs of being in music, the feeling of people doubting me and being the underdog to becoming the big dog."

Offset goes on to say that his debut solo offering will be playlist-esque. "I'm really pushing my album to be a playlist and not an album, because a playlist is consistently being played for moves, exercises, and different things," he offered. "With Spotify and all the streaming services, it's all about who got the biggest playlist. So I was focused on making my album like a playlist. The format of what an album is in the books isn't what's going on in 2019."

Last month, it was reported that there was a joint project between Migos and Drake in the works, although that idea was backtracked by Quavo shortly after. However, when asked about the possible collaboration, Offset offers hope that it might not be dead after all. "I don't know. That's my brother, so we got shit, but I don't know," he says.

Moving forward, Offset is focused on getting back to the basics and working on Migos' Culture III. Keeping up that momentum, he also shared that Without Warning 2, which would be a sequel to his Without Warning album he dropped with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin, isn't out of the question.

"I'm not going to lie, we got so many songs that didn't even make it and still had the people going crazy," he says. "So it's any time for that. Those are my brothers."

Offset's debut LP is set to drop Dec. 14.
