Yes, there still are good kids out there. When the Junior class at Pine Ridge High School found out that their beloved math teacher was battling cancer, they decided to use the funds they raised for Junior/Senior Prom, and give it to their teacher to help with medical bills.

As we all know, decorations for prom can be quiet expensive, but when one junior class learned that one of their own teachers was going through a battle with cancer, they elected to use the funds they raised not for prom, but for helping their teacher.

The class decided to do without and help their teacher as he is fighting for his life. Sure, they could have overlooked his illness, but these kids felt that prom was secondary, and that the well-being of their teacher was and is priority.

We are often critical about the younger generation, but stories like this should be an indication to all of us that kids still do have priorities and they still do care. To see these kids put one of their biggest nights aside and help someone who is battling cancer is so moving, and so reassuring. I salute the kids at Pine Ridge High, and thank their parents for instilling priorities in their kids. What a story!!
