Police Dash Cam Shows Police Car Mowing Down Suspect [VIDEO]

The Marana Police Department released a police dash cam video that shows a suspect, Mario Valencia, being run over by a police car. 

The suspect, who was allegedly on a crime spree that day, is seen carrying a shotgun at the beginning of the video and out of no where a police car enters the frame and runs over the man. The guy is thrown in the air and hits the police car on his way down.

Some how the guy was NOT killed here and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. He was then released into police custody and put into jail.

The suspect allegedly broke into a church, committed arson, broke into a home and stole a car. Police also say that he stole a rifle and ammunition from Walmart and fired the gun not far from the store.

Was the take down a bit excessive, Valencia's attorney thinks so, but the chief of police says the force was warranted. The chief says that the suspect posed an immediate threat to the community and that he had to be taken down with force.
