In what may be a historical moment in modern day Catholicism, Pope Benedict XVI has posted his very first tweet. Yes, the "Holy Father" has gone to the social media site Twitter to deliver his first ever message on any social media site.The Vatican confirmed that the pope did indeed tweet the following message:

"Dear Friends, I just launched News.va Praised be our Lord Jesus Christ! With my prayers and blessings, Benedictus XVI"

While it remains unclear if the pope actually took the time to type the message, the Vatican confirmed that the holy-one did indeed touch the screen on the touchpad to launch the statement via the social media site.
