President Barack Obama Breaks Down In Tears While Talking About Wife, First Lady Michelle Obama [VIDEO]

During his farewell speech Tuesday night in Chicago, President Obama got emotional when he thanked his wife Michelle Obama.

Michelle LeVaughn Robinson, girl of the South Side. For the past 25 years, you’ve been not only my wife and mother of my children, you have been my best friend. You took on a role you didn’t ask for and you made it your own with grace and grit and style, and good humor. You made the White House a place that belongs to everybody. And a new generation sets its sights higher because it has you as a role model. You’ve made me proud. You’ve made the country proud.

As the crowd continued to stand and loudly applaud the First Lady, one of the most emotional members of the audience was Malia Obama who wiped away tears as she listened to her father sing her mother's praises.

Obama also paid tribute to his daughters.

Malia and Sasha, under the strangest of circumstances, you have become two amazing young women, you are smart and beautiful, but more importantly, kind and thoughtful and full of passion. You wore the burden of years in the spotlight so easily. Of all that I’ve done in my life, I’m most proud to be your dad.

Sasha Obama was noticeably absent, but according to multiple reports she did not make the trip to Chicago to see her father's farewell address due to an exam in D.C. on Wednesday morning.

It goes to show that even if you're the President's daughter it's not that easy to get out of a test.

After the speech, Michelle responded on Twitter with a picture of the four Obamas from the early days of their political adventures as a family.

Regardless of how you feel about President Obama or his policies, the way the man treats his wife and his children is a shining example of how we should treat our family, loved ones and neighbors.

It's that type of love and respect that leads to true social transformation.
