Prince wanted to mentor Chris Brown when the embattled singer was going through his legal problems, according to a "Lost" interview from Rolling Stone magazine

In the 2014 interview, the Purple One revealed that he had invited Breezy over to Paisley Park, though it is unclear whether the singer accepted his invitation.

When the magazine mentioned that some people thought that Brown's violent incident with Rihanna back in 2009 was "unforgiveable," Prince was apparently, "shocked."

"Unforgivable?" he says. "Goodness. That's when we go check the master, Christ...have you ever instantly forgiven somebody?" Prince asked the reporter Brian Hiatt. "It's the best feeling in the world, and it totally dismantles that person's whole stance," he continued.

Later, the interviewer asks him about the fate of Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse, beloved artists who lived troubling lives up until their deaths, he reiterates his desire to help his industry peers.

"We're all connected, right, we're all brothers and sisters, and the minute we lock that in, we wouldn't let anybody in our family fall. That's why I called Chris Brown. All of us need to be able to reach out and just fix stuff. There's nothing that's unforgivable."

Though the music legend's fame and influence was larger than life, he was still found time to help younger musicians in the industry. Several artists, including Talib Kweli, Toni Braxton and Erykah Badu shared stories of how Prince personally touched their lives, following his death last month.
