Pusha-T is extending his prayers and well wishes to the victim of a recent mass shooting as the man headed into surgery on Monday (Aug. 27).

Timothy Anselimo, a professional NBA 2K video game player better known as Larry Legend, was shot three times in Jacksonville, Florida during a gaming tournament on Sunday (Aug. 26) that took the lives of two young men: Taylor Robertson and Eli Clayton. Anselimo tweeted that he was "in shock" and "woke up crying" on the day of his surgery. A few days before the shooting, on Aug. 17, Pusha tweeted back a prayer emoji after Anselimo wrote that Daytona was the "album of the year." When he saw that Anselimo had been a victim in the deadly mass shooting, he penned words of encouragement on Twitter.

"My prayers go out to all the victims of the shooting at the Madden event in Jacksonville, we definitely aren’t gonna let this tragedy ruin our love for gaming," he wrote. " wishing u a speedy recovery, u sent good vibes my way a few days ago now it’s my turn to send them back." Anselimo later wrote in response, "Thanks Pusha, This Means More Than You Can Imagine."

Anselimo has been tweeted since it's believed he underwent surgery, but the future of his health and career are still unclear. Pusha wasn't the only rapper to speak out about the tragic shooting—Snoop Dogg also expressed his condolences to the families of the two gamers who were shot and killed, writing, "No one should know the feeling of losing a family member like this, especially over a video game. My thoughts are also with the survivors. ."

If Anselimo thinks that Daytona is the album of the year, he's certainly not alone. The LP landed on XXL's list of Best Hip-Hop Projects of 2018 (So Far) and its opening song, "If You Know You Know" is among the Best Hip-Hop Songs of 2018 (So Far).

We extend our greatest sympathies to Anselimo and all the victims of this tragic shooting. Read the tweet exchanges between Pusha and Anselimo below.
