They may not have started the craze, but Rae Sremmurd certainly have had a hand in popularizing and soundtracking the Mannequin Challenge, stopping by the ESPN Los Angeles studios recently to hit a pose with SportsCenter anchors Neil Everett and Nicole Briscoe.

The party starting brothers seem surprised the viral trend has gained so much momentum, Swae Lee crediting "Black Beatles" for its popularity. "We had put out a song called 'Black Beatles' and it was a hot song that the world gravitated toward. It just brought a good feel," he says. "Black Beatles" reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 this week, no doubt assisted by the many Mannequin Challenges using it.

Sim Jxmmi meanwhile explains how he first came across the freeze frame phenomenon. "I was going through Twitter and I saw a video, a little high school was doing the Mannequin Challenge and I thought it was cool so I brought it to everybody," he says. "We made the freshest video ever and it went crazy dumb viral." That video was taken during a Rae Sremmurd show in Denver less than two weeks ago.

As for where the challenge can go from here, Jxmmi seems to have his eye on a pair of soaring Dallas Cowboys. "We gonna do the mannequin challenge with Dak and Zeke at the Super Bowl," he says. Catch their SportsCenter Mannequin Challenge and interview up above,
