On Saturday December 17th history was made in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome for the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. The Ragin Cajuns won their first ever bowl game as they defeated the San Diego State Aztecs 32-3o in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. The Cajuns were coming off of a great year led by first year head coach Mark Hudspeth and the season ended with a kick that was heard around the state.

Here is the audio of how history was made on December 17th in New Orleans. From our sister station ESPN 1420am, listen to the call as Brett Baer lines up for the kick of his life. The game winning call was by none other than the voice of the Cajuns, Jay Walker, and Steve Peloquin.

Listen to the build-up before the kick and then the kick itself. Baer lined up for 50-yard kick to win the game and then successfully put the ball through the uprights in the Superdome. If you had to script an end to the Cajuns' wonderful and historic season, I don't think you could have come up with a better ending than this. This was a day the Cajun Nation will never forget and it is a day that is so deserving. So many of the faithful have been with this program through the good, the bad, and the ugly. As they saying goes, "this one is for you!!!"
