Yes, during a soccer match in Brazil a ref pulled a gun out during an altercation and the field---which resulted in him being escorted off of the field.

The referee, Gabriel Murta, is a police officer during the day and after he was allegedly roughed up by the team he retreated to the locker room and returned with the gun. He will now have to undergo psychological evaluations before returning to the field.
