Rihanna is continuing her foray into film, this time starring alongside Adam Driver (Star Wars, Girls) in a new music drama produced by Amazon, Annette.

Variety reports that Rooney Mara was originally cast in the film but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. The film tells the story of a man who's trying to care for his two year-old daughter following the death of his wife. Leos Carax will direct, while LA art-rock duo Sparks will write the screenplay and soundtrack in what will be their screenwriting debut.

As of right now, it's unclear what roles Rihanna and Adam Driver will play. As aforementioned, Rihanna has dabbled in film quite a bit as of late. She's set to star in the much-hyped film, Oceans 8, an all female remake of the hit film Oceans 11, where she'll play Nine Ball.

As for music, RiRi just hit another milestone yesterday, when she achieved her 22nd top five hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with “Love on the Brain,” surpassing Elvis Presley on the most top fives of all time list.

There's no word as of yet about when Annette is expected premiere.
