Former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Robert Meachem is attempting a comeback with the team, but his tryout was briefly put on hold today.

Meachem was not seen on the practice field during the Saints minicamp.

According to coach Sean Payton, Meachem is dealing with a foot injury.

"He had a foot issue this morning and we held him back," said Payton. "We'll see how he's doing tomorrow. It's not a prior injury but it's significant enough (to keep him from practicing)."

Meachem spent 7 of his 8 year career with New Orleans. He was the Saints 1st round pick (27th overall) in 2007. He last played in 2014 as a backup.

At 31 years old, he's hoping for another chance to be a Saint.
