Russell Brand is filming a movie in New Orleans. When people see celebrities like Russell Brand, they take pictures with their cell-phones. When people take pictures of Russell Brand, Russell Brand gets mad. When Russell Brand gets mad, he snatches photograph-snapping cell phones and throws them through nearby windows. When people smash other people's cell phones through windows, they break the law. When people break the law, they get arrested.

Today, Russell Brand got arrested.

The actor/comedian turned himself into New Orleans authorities earlier this afternoon after a warrant was issued for his arrest in connection to the cell phone of a paparazzo that Brand was said to have thrown through the window of a New Orleans law firm. Brand was booked on one simple count of simple criminal damage and though he was in custody earlier, I wouldn't imagine him still being there by the time I finish writing this blog post.

Before charges were filed by the angry pap, Brand took to his twitter account in a humorous form of confession.

Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iPhone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory.

The broken window has already been taken care of by Brand's "people." A measly $240 is probably chump change to the funny man, but Russell, next time, do what Chris Brown did in the same situation and just TAKE the phone. No phone. No proof. No pics. Everyone wins. (sorta)
