Saints fans wanted the organization to lock down pass rusher Junior Galette, but they probably didn't think it would happen this soon.

Galette signed a four-year contract extension worth $41.5 million, which the NFL network reports will have $23 million of it guaranteed to the big man. He officially signed the contract Wednesday in yet another move that surprised the fanbase, but this was the type of suprise that Who Dat Nation and Galette were looking for.

It was a reward well-earned for a player who far surpassed expectations, and Galette was quoted as saying it was the best day of his life. He took to twitter to let the fans know his excitement with the culmination of his deal.

For an undrafted free agent out of college, $23 million guaranteed would sound like a mirage. The mirage is a reality now for Galette, but it took him 12 sacks last year to finally reach it. With that type of salary, that type of production will be expected as well moving forward.

As long as he keeps rocking the Superdome on Sundays, he should see himself well-paid in a black and gold jersey. For now, it's just one less contract for Mickey Lumis and Who Dat Nation to worry about getting done.
