The New Orleans Saints return to action on Sunday afternoon, when they play host to the Detroit Lions in a match-up in NFC foes.

The contest represents the second home game of the year for the Saints, who fell to the New England Patriots, 36-20, in their only other home contest.

Kickoff time at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome is scheduled for noon, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420, as well as 97.3 The Dawg.

The all-time series between the two franchises is tied, 12-12-1, but Detroit has won each of the last three meetings, including a 28-13 win over New Orleans last season.

New Orleans, who was idle last week, is 2-2 on the season, while Detroit, who fell to the Carolina Panthers, 27-24, will enter at 3-2.

Offensively, the Saints are averaging 23.3 points-per-game, to go along with 370.5 total yards, including 276.5 passing yards, and 94.0 rushing yards-per-game.

New Orleans is led by quarterback Drew Brees, who has thrown for 1,135 yards and 8 touchdowns, along with running back Mark Ingram, who has rushed for 170 yards on 42 carries, and receiver Michael Thomas, who has caught 25 passes for 310 yards and two touchdowns.

The Lions are averaging 24.6 points, to go along with 288.2 total yards, including 200.6 passing yards, and 87.6 rushing yards a game.

Detroit is paced by quarterback Matthew Stafford, who has thrown for 1,116 yards and 9 touchdowns, along with running back Ameer Abdullah, who has rushed for 288 yards and one touchdown, and receiver Golden Tate, who has caught 29 passes passes for 261 yards and one touchdown.

Defensively, the Saints giving up an average of 19.5 points-per-game, to go along with 374.8 yards-per-game, including 265.3 passing yards and 109.5 rushing yards, while the Lions are allowing only 19.4 points, to go along along with 330.4 total yards, including 255.8 passing yards and 74.6 rushing yards.
