We are ready for some football. Let's just hope our New Orleans Saints are ready for some football. Okay, it's practice football but it's still the first chance we the fans will have to see the Black and Gold on the field.

Tonight the Saints will travel to Baltimore to take on the Ravens. NFL Analyst and featured guest on ESPN 1420's The Mr. Bitter Show every Saturday Morning Mike Detiller says the coaches are looking for mistake-free football.

I mean nothing drives a coach crazier than that, because of all of the time spent in the practice sessions, the OTAs and at the Greenbrier.

Detillier's comments were reported by the Louisiana Radio Network.

Let's face it, there will be loads of mistakes tonight. That's what the preseason games are supposed to do. They help a team work out the kinks and get into a regular season rhythm. The Saints looked anything but sharp in their annual Black and Gold Scrimmage last week. So you can bet the coaches will be looking for better execution.

Detillier also says fans should keep a close eye on the battle for slots in the Saint's receiver corp. He says Marques Colston and Brandin Cooks are the starters but as for the rest of the roster slots, there are still questions.

The two wide outs who have really played and practiced well and that's Brandon Coleman, second year wide receiver and Willie Snead, who was on the practice squad last year of the Carolina Panthers, very, very impressive

Tonight's preseason game can be heard on ESPN 1420. Due to league restrictions there will be no online stream of the game available via the ESPN 1420 website or radioPup App. The game will be televised on The CW locally beginning at 6:30. That is channel 3.2 (digital) for over the air, channel 10 on Cox Cable, Channel 21 on LUS Fiber and Channel 4 on Direct TV.
