New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram was randomly drug tested at the end of the 2017 season.

A lawyer for Ingram said today (5/9) that he did not take performance-enhancing drugs and that the suspension has been appealed. A ruling is expected by next week.

The NFL announced Tuesday (5/8) that Ingram would be suspended for the first four games of the regular 2018 season for testing positive for PED's.

Ingram's lawyer said that he tested positive at the end of the 2017 season "for a substance that was not a performance enhancing substance, but a substance in fact permissible with the proper use exemption with the NFL."

A decision, or opinion, by an arbitrator is expected no later than May 16th.
