New Orleans Saints running back Daniel Lasco will miss the remainder of the 2017 NFL season, but it could have been a lot worse.

Lasco, who was taken off the field in an ambulance in the second quarter of the Saints' 47-10 win against the Buffalo Bills, will be out for the year, as he willl have surgery to correct a bulging disc.

The good news is that the injury isn't considered to be career-ending, and Lasco is expected to return next season.

The 25-year old Lasco was covering a kickoff when he made a head-first tackle on a Bills' returner, before going immediately to the ground.

A 7th round selection by the Saints in the 2016 NFL Draft, Lasco was motionless on the field and was tended to by medical personnel, before being immobilized and placed on a stretcher, and then loaded in the ambulance.

As a running back, Lasco has accumulated 33 yards on 11 carries, all with the Saints, in his NFL career.
