Saints Take On 49ers

The New Orleans Saints will be looking to get above the .500 mark for the first time this year on Sunday, when they host the San Francisco 49ers at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La.
New Orleans began the year 0-4, but has won five of their last six games, including a 38-17 victory over the Oakland Raiders last week, and are now at 5-5 on the season, while San Francisco crushed the Chicago Bears, 32-7, on Monday night, to move to 7-2-1, and remain in sole possession of first place in the NFC West.
The Saints are led offensively by quarterback Drew Brees, who has thrown for 3,066 yards, and 28 touchdown this year, while the 49ers are paced by running back Frank Gore, has has accumulated 831 rushing yards, along with five touchdowns.
New Orleans ranks sixth in the NFL in total offense, averaging 391.1 yards-per-game, while San Francisco ranks 13th, at 364.6 yards a contest.
Defensively, the 49ers rank second in the league, allowing only 277.2 yards-per-game, while the Saints rank last, giving up an average of 462.8 yards a match-up.
The Saints are 24-46-2 all-time against the 49ers, including a 36-32 playoff loss last year.
