Another outbreak of salmonella is affecting consumers in Indiana, Kentucky, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio, North Carolina, Missouri and Michigan, and it’s spreading.  Health officials report that 60 people have been infected after eating pre-cut watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, and fruit salad. The salmonella-tainted food comes from a Caito Foods facility in Indianapolis, Indiana, and sold at Walmart, Costco, Whole Foods, Kroger and a few other stores. The affected fruit is voluntarily being recalled.

From the FDA:

The potential that these products are contaminated with Salmonella was discovered through analyzing reports made by state departments of public health. Caito Foods has ceased producing and distributing these products as the company and FDA continue their investigation.
