While the 45th Super Bowl was being played, there was other NFL news flying around the internet that had nothing to do with the Packers or the Steelers. The blogs were going wild, with rumors that New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton would be moving to Dallas to accept a GM position with the Dallas Cowboys. Rumors were flat out denied by the New Orleans Saints, assuring fans that Payton would be remaining head coach of the Saints, but they never said he wasn't moving to Dallas ... because he is.

ESPN is reporting that New Orleans Saints Head Coach has moved his family out of New Orleans and into the Dallas-Ft. Worth area on the anniversary of Payton winning the Super Bowl just 365 days ago.

While all indications are that Payton will remain as head coach for the Saints, there were speculations that he may be taking a front office job with the Dallas Cowboys.

But wait, how can he coach the NEW ORLEANS Saints living in DALLAS ???

it's not uncommon for families of coaches to live in different places than the coaches themselves. Payton told Ed Werder of ESPN.com that he'll have a private plane that will make the 90-minute trip easier, and that he and his family originally considered this scenario when he took the Saints job.

While Payton has proclaimed his love for the city of New Orleans and the importance if "living" in the city, this definitely seems like the type of move that will "keep the peace" in Payton's home. I remember a particular part in Sean Payton's autobiography (Home Team) that shows why this situation actually makes sense

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton heard from his family after moving his family to the Big Easy from Dallas in time for the 2006 season. Payton tells the story of having to wait over two hours at a drugstore for antibiotics for his daughter's strep throat in a post-Katrina landscape. Soon after, Payton's wife Beth asked him, "Sean, where are you bringing us?"

Even with all the "sense" this makes, I don't think The Who Dat Nation will take this news without an "odd" feeling being that we have so much pride when it comes to our area. But will the commute get old ? ...  and is there more to this developing story? Payton was part of the Dallas Cowboys organization prior to his arrival in New Orleans. Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm ???

At least he's in the same neighborhood as The Jonas Brothers.
