Sharks were discovered living in an active underwater volcanoes for the first time ever.

Kavachi is an active volcano in the southwest Pacific ocean. The water in, and around it is very hot and acidic and is very dangerous to humans.

A team of scientists sent down a robot equipped with a camera, and when they looked at the footage they were very surprised to not only find a lot of living sea life, but sharks!

They still don't know why the sharks go into the active volcano, but it is a really cool discovery on their part.
