‘School’s Out For Summer!’, now what? Every year the same question pops up, ‘What am I going to do this Summer?’ You could completely shut down and vegetate in front of the TV, sleep late to avoid doing chores, or if you’re lucky, head out on a trip
Music makes the world go round, brings people together, and it’s definitely been known to pump the party. People of Acadiana got to experience two nights of throwbacks at the Hot 107.9 Breakfast Jam Party. Gen X, Gen Y, and even Gen Z were all representing. After a crazy week of events, we all needed a way to bring some life back to our souls.

We are no longer accepting new entries. Thanks for participating and good luck!

We have had the privilege of Chasity returning every year to spread the amazing stories of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Hers is a sad story of loss, but also of hope.
Check out Lafayette's version of the viral video phenomenon.
If you drive around Lafayette on a regular basis, chances are you have seen the 'LSU Lamborghini.' In addition to seeing it all around town, I have personally had the 'LSU Lambo' zoom past me on Bertrand drive, leaving me in his dust - but now it looks like the LSU Lambo's "zooming" has finally caught up to it's owner.
It's too bad K'naan played on the main stage at Voodoo fest. His personal, live-band hip hop is much better suited for closer quarters.
A lot of K'naan's lyrics relate his personal history (he was born and spent much of his life in the turbulent eastern African country of Somalia); his band backs him up loosely, soulfully, with heart; on stage, he's funny, he's uplifting, he's a great rapper, and he's likeable – heck, he's loveable
At Justice’s show, we found the guy in the banana costume who was selling granola earlier by the port-o-lets. A girl with a pink wig was riding on his shoulders, both hands gripped to the felt stem on his head. All around them were bright colors – the green of the glow sticks, the Easter blue of unicorn costumes, the yellows of the banana costumes. It was a little weird, and we felt ourselves getting all giddy at the prospect of an epic party.
