Here in the South when there is a hurricane, we have hurricane parties. When the lights go out and the air conditioning doesn't work we cook out in the backyard with neighbors. We have just learned how to make the best of a bad situation. It's what we do.

In the Northeast this morning residents there are digging out from under a record setting blizzard and snowfall. Some people stayed huddled up in their apartments while others took advantage of the snow pack and the empty streets to do something that they might only have the chance to do once in a lifetime.

This gentleman is snowboarding behind a Jeep. Is it safe? Nope. It is it fun? Sure looks like it is. I especially enjoyed the reaction of the NYPD. There is living proof that bad situations bring out the best in people.
