If you don't have flood insurance, all is not lost.  You may be able to get help since the area was declared a disaster area.  Here are the email addresses for each parish head in the office of Homeland Security

But whatever you do, make sure it's safe for you to go back into your neighborhood.  Some areas are still experiencing rising waters because of bayous and rivers and there are some roads that are either still impassable or damaged because of the flood.
