Solange comes into her own in the new issue of Harper's Bazaar. The 27-year-old singer strikes a pose for a colorful fashion spread and opens about her music career and personal life, including laughing off all the loser guys she's dated.

"Luckily, I dated all of the losers ages ago. My love life has been stable for a while," Solange says in the interview. "It's a f---ed-up thing -- without conflict it's a lot harder to write interesting songs."

The magazine points to Solange's longtime relationship with video director Alan Ferguson. Of her divorce from high school sweetheart Daniel Smith in 2006, she says, "Just going through a marriage and a divorce -- which I essentially did by 21 -- will give you an insane amount of perspective on life."

As the younger sister of Beyonce, comparisons to the superstar have always plagued Solange's career. The Houston native says that her own parents tried to dissuade her from pursuing music after going through the process with Bey. "My parents constantly tried to talk me out of being an artist. They had gone through the whole journey with my sister and just wanted me to have a normal teenage life."

Last year she released the compilation album 'Saint Heron,' through her own label, Saint records.
