The Faile family from Kershaw, South Carolina, was the Columbia Metropolitan Airport Military Family of the Game at a recent South Carolina football game. Their first surprise came when their dad/husband showed up on the huge video screen in the stadium, but there was more to come. After the family was recognized before a sold out stadium, Sergeant First Class Scott Faile appeared on the video screen and told his family that he would be home "really, really, soon." What his family did not know was that he was about to walkout on the same field they were standing on.

Sgt. Faile had returned home from South Korea, after completing his third tour of duty. He had previously served in Afghanistan and Kuwait. He says that he planned his surprise return for three months.

"I had been planning it for about three months," he said. "It was perfect timing, they had no idea. I told them that I had entered them on the SEC [Southeastern Conference] website, which was total fiction. That I had entered a drawing for tickets to the Georgia game."
