St. Martin Parish Officials Investigate After Possible Human Remains Found

Investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office were called out to investigate after a pedestrian walking along a road noticed what appeared to be human remains in an area off of Leland Road.

After the discovery this afternoon, the remains were taken to the LSU Forensics Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services Laboratory where they can work to establish information about the remains.

St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Officials say the remains appear to have been there for an extended period of time.

Investigators are still working on the case.
