Is all fair in love, war and battle rapping? Nick Cannon might be able to answer, as Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta stars Stevie J and Joseline Hernandez guested on Cannon's Wild 'n Out recently, with tensions nearly erupting during the show's "Wild Style" freestyling segment. With an emphasis on punchlines and insults, "Wild Style" typically positions two performers against one another, but Stevie J may have crossed the line with a jab directed at Cannon.

As TMZ reports, Stevie J alluded to sleeping with Cannon's ex-wife and the mother of his children Mariah Carey not once but twice during the show's taping. Cannon responded, telling the reality star he should be more concerned with Hernandez sleeping with rap star Rick Ross, and at one point allegedly told Stevie J that he won't ever work in Hollywood again. The TMZ report sources eyewitnesses who say the two nearly began fighting on stage before the show's producers intervened.

While it's impossible to determine the legitimacy of the friction without seeing the episode, it's entirely plausible that Stevie J intentionally pushed Cannon's most sensitive button with the insult. The reality personality had called out Rick Ross just last month, so the line-stepping doesn't strike as something out of character. Cannon and Carey had filed for divorce in January of 2015. Time will ultimately tell how close the two came to scuffling.
