TMZ is catching the ire of hip-hoppers for mistakenly reporting Lil Wayne’s health Friday night (March 15) after he was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Rapper T.I. went on Twitter and criticized the gossip website for the way they handled the story.

“Just holla’d @ my Lil bruh Tunechi…& he skraight! TMZ some f— n—-z for reporting that hoe-a– s—!!! That man daughter is like mines,” he wrote in his seething tweet. He then added, “That s— surely got his mama hurtin, his kids hurtin,& he got true to da game patnas like me & Othas who ready to RIDE bout all da f— s—.”

The tabloid site initially reported that Wayne was on his death bed after the rapper was rushed to the ICU following a bout with seizures. At the time of this writing, the website has not posted a retraction nor apologized for their inaccurate story. Tunechi’s publicist and Young Money president Mack Maine have since issued a statement denying the reports and maintaining that Wayne is alive and well.

Tip’s rants also sparked several different emotions from his followers on Twitter. One person applauded the Atlanta rapper for giving TMZ a tweet-lashing. “The more read your tweets, the more pissed I get!! TMZ need to be shut down!! I would never give them a–holes a sec of my time,” she wrote.

Another commentator felt that T.I. was overreacting and suggested he calm down. “RIDE? WTF you talking about snitch stay hollywood and get your $$$ from your teenage white fans and stfu.”

Meanwhile, celebrity blogger Carlton Jordan advised Tip and his friends to direct their energy towards helping Wayne get healthy. “Why dont yall help him get off that syrup since you so ride or die?” he tweeted.

At this point, we don’t know what actually caused Wayne’s seizures since no official statement has been made. Drake and a few celebrities have visited the Young Money leader at the hospital.

What do you think? Should TMZ issue an apology for their misreporting? Or should everyone calm down? Tell us in the comments below.
