T-Pain is one of music's biggest names but having not dropped a studio album since 2011's Revolver, things got tough for the singer.

Ready for his comeback with his latest album OblivionT-Pain sat down with Gary Vaynerchuk of the AskGaryVee podcast and discussed a rough patch in his life. According to the singer, he went through a four-year stint of heavy drinking. "I [was] just sittin' at home, drinking myself to death," he said.

T-Pain also revealed there was a time when he went through money issues and even had to borrow money just to get food at Burger King. "I definitely had to run out of money first," he said. "I had to borrow money to get Burger King. It got that bad. And I still had artists and stuff. I was paying for photoshoots, and I was borrowing money to do all that."

While the artist may have fallen on hard times, he is now back in the limelight thanks to his latest project. The new album includes features from Chris Brown, Tiffany Evans, Wale, Ty Dolla $ign and Ne-Yo.
