NBC Skips 9/11 "Moment of Silence" For Kardashian Interview

As if we needed another reason to hate the Kardashians...

At 8:46 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, most national news outlets took a break from their regular programming to air a special "moment of silence" from New York City and Washington D.C. to honor the victims of 9/11. We say "most" because, as it turns out, not everyone was a participant. While FOX, CBS, ABC, CNBC and MSNBC went quiet at this time, which was the moment 11 years ago when the first plane hit the Twin Towers, NBC continued on with the 'Today' show, which just so happened to feature an interview with Kris Jenner of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians.'

We have seen several good television commercials today as we honor the ten year anniversay of 9/11. However, of the all, there is one that stands out amongst the rest. All day, as soon I heard this commercial come on, I stopped what I was doing to watch it. Something about kids honoring heroes and city there were so impacted on this day, yet they were not even old enough, or born, to understand the magnitude of 9/11/01.

As we all look back on 9/11/01 today, ten years later, we all have our own memories of that dreaded day in American History. After the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, one of the largest American flags damaged during the attacks continued to fly above the resulting wreckage during the clean-up efforts.

Seven years later, that flag, dubbed the National 9/11 Flag, was sewn back together by tornado survivors in Greensburg, Kansas, and has also been stitched by World War II veterans, survivors of the Ft. Hood, Texas rampage, and Martin Luther King Jr.’s family.
