Cleveland kidnapper Ariel Castro was found dead hanging in his jail cell on Tuesday night. According to KTLA, medics attempted to resuscitate Castro upon finding him but attempts were unsuccessful. Last month, Castro was sentenced to life in prison plus 1,000 years for the abductions of Amanda Berry, Michelle Knight and Gina DeJesus.

The Cleveland man who pleaded guilty to 937 charges related to his kidnapping and imprisonment of three women between 2002 and May of this year was sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole.
