As floodwaters continue to displace people in parts of Louisiana, one Northshore man is going viral after he claims to have forgotten his tax refund in the flood.
Flooding rains have already inundated North Louisiana. The soaking now shifts to the south over the next few days with still the possibility of over 10 inches of rainfall in some locations.
Depending upon where you live the next several days could see as much as a foot of rain dropped on your community. There is also a severe weather threat with this system that is expected to impact Louisiana beginning Tuesday.
The Army Corps of Engineers is taking steps to help Louisiana deal with rising rivers. The Bonnet Carre Spillway was opened on Sunday. The Morganza Spillway could be opened by midweek.
Recent heavy rains have sparked flooding concerns from Shreveport to Alexandria along the Red River. These same rains have officials in Baton Rouge and New Orleans keeping a close eye on the Mississippi River as well.
Fortunately for Louisiana residents most of the heavy rains and coastal flooding problems that were predicted with Bill's arrival were very short lived.
