Remember when Jimmy Kimmel's 'Lie Witness News' went to Coachella last year? Well, the skit is back.

Tragedy has befallen SXSW, the music industry's biggest event, currently taking place in Austin, Texas. A driver plowed into a crowd of people outside the Mohawk venue, where rapper Tyler, The Creator was performing as part of the Vans showcase on late Wednesday night (March 12), killing two and injuring 23 more, sending them to the hospital.

After conquering the SXSW stage last year, Kanye West made a surprise appearance at the Austin festival Wednesday (March 14) during 2 Chainz‘s set at the SOB’s 30th Anniversary event. Yeezy along with fellow G.O.O.D. Music artist Big Sean jumped onstage to spit a few rhymes for the lively crowd.

The annual SXSW interactive conference in Austin is sometimes plagued with snail-slow internet speeds (when you can connect at all). But this year it’s been a little easier to find a wifi hotspot: just look for a homeless person. Yes, homeless people are now being used as wifi spots.

Jay-Z is set to return to Austin, Texas next week for a special concert performance at the annual SXSW Music, Film and Interactive Festival. The hip-hop king will headline the ‘Amex Sync Show Presenting Jay-Z’ on March 12 at 8PM ET
