Just after the big victory Saturday night at Cajun Field aganist in-state rival ULM, UL-Lafayette Head Coach Mark Hudspeth got a little emotional in the post-game interview. It is quiet obvious that UL, Louisiana, and the fans of UL have a special place in the heart of the first year head coach.

From early morning meetings, to press conferences, and even a quick workout before practice, all are part of a very busy day for the first year head coach. Still, coach finds it in him to be the best he can be, and bring out the best in many of his young athletes.
The University & UL Football has requested that for their final home game of the year, Saturday Nov. 5th at 2:30pm, against UL-Monroe that fans "whiteout" the stadium. The team and university have requested that all UL fans and students wear white shirts to the game. We have seen many stadiums pull this off before, but this may be a first for Cajun Field.
ESPN.go has a great blog on the first year head coach of UL's Ragin Cajuns Football Team. For what was expected to be a "down year" or "rebuilding year" for the program, Coach Hudspeth has taken the reigns and single handily re-built a program over night. The Cajuns are 6-1 on the season, and undefeated in Sun Belt Conference play. “Our team has bought into the work ethic I wanted to bring into our program,” Hudspeth said in a recent phone interview.
New UL Ragin Cajun Coach Mark Hudspeth has issued yet another challenge to all UL Ragin Cajun Fans. Initially, the new coach issued a challenge to the the UL faithful to beat their previous season ticket record. Well, the faithful listened, and actually surpassed the previous record by over 600 season ticket sells. Now, "Coach Hud" has issued yet another challenge to the faithful as we rapidly approach the season opener this Saturday evening, September 17th, at Cajun Field.
In what may the most anticipated Spring Football Game in the history of the UL-Lafayette Ragin Cajun Football program, it happens this weekend at Cajun Field. It is the debut of Coach Mark Hudspeth on Cajun Field, and the hype can already be seen and felt around the stadium.
