Three people are recovering at home as investigators search for the mob of teens responsible for their brutal attack last Saturday in a Memphis Kroger parking lot.

A disturbing cell phone video of the attack was recorded by a Kroger employee and has been making its way around social media. At one point the video shows another Kroger employee laying still on the ground while others kick and stomp him repeatedly in the head.

A witness (who did not want to be identified) described the grisly scene to WREG, saying that the viral video only shows a small part of what really happened as a mob of "100 to 125 kids" viciously ran through the Kroger parking lot attacking complete strangers.

He said the teens were playing a game called 'point them out, knock them out' where the objective is to point out a complete stranger and attempt to fight them or knock them out for no reason.

A 25-year-old Kroger customer says he was attacked by the mob as he walked to his car, and when two store employees, 17 and 18, ran to his aid they were repeatedly hit in the head and face.

WARNING: Graphic raw video may be disturbing to some viewers.

Eventually a store security guard managed to stop the melee—but not before both teens had pumpkins in excess of 20 pounds from a store display thrown at their heads while they were laying on the ground, out cold.

He was already unconscious, so all you could see was blood and pumpkins.

Many on social media have been commenting that this was a racially charged crime, but according to witnesses, the mob was made up of blacks, whites, girls and boys. Multiple races were also victimized in this vicious attack, as we saw in slowed down footage from WREG.

Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong has addressed the incident, clearly troubled by the actions of the Memphis youth involved.

A lot of our citizens are working to provide safe and productive alternatives for our youth. For those that choose not to take advantage of these opportunities, we will work tirelessly to identify, locate and you accountable. Last night’s events clearly demonstrate lack of parental controls and if warranted, these parents will be held accountable.

A spokesperson for Kroger also spoke out on the incident, showing sympathy for the store employees involved and confirming that they were taken to the hospital, released to their parents and are both doing fine.

The DA has announced that it will not make a decision on whether or not the attack will be considered a hate crime until police complete their investigation. Authorities are currently working to find those responsible.

Anyone with information on the attacks is asked to contact the Tillman Police Station at (901) 636-3214 or Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.

UPDATE: WREG is reporting that four teens have been charged in connection with the attack after being turned in by family members.
