Teenage Mother Caught On Tape Trying To Kill Her Baby [VIDEO]

It took a jury less than 20 minutes to find 18-year-old Shantaniqua Scott guilty of two counts of injury to a child with serious bodily injury after watching a video of hidden cameras that caught her in the act. The footage was from last July in Dallas when the 18-year-old mom was caught placing a blanket, and eventually her hand over her four-month-old son's face at a children's medical center.When the baby stopped breathing, alarms went off alerting doctors and nurses to rush in and resuscitate him. Sgt. Pedro Criado of the Fort Worth Police Department said that Scott confessed to smothering her son saying that she didn't want her child anymore because it was 'hard' being a teenage mother and complained that the baby's father refused to help.

“She just basically stated that she just wanted to go back to that carefree attitude she had before she had the child,”

The child is now being looked after by social worker and doctors have not yet determined if there will be any lasting injuries. Meanwhile, Scott faces life in prison after being convicted of two counts of causing serious bodily injury to a child.
