If your New Year's resolution was to drop a few pounds in 2017 you're probably 15 Google searches deep into all of the different diet plans, but which ones are the best?

U.S. News & World Report has compiled their annual list of the best (and worst) diets of the year, and for the seventh year in a row the DASH diet is in the #1 spot.

If you've never heard of the DASH diet before it stands for dietary approaches to stopping hypertension. Basically, it's a low-fat, low-sodium diet that consists of a lot of plant-based meals. It was created to help people lower their blood pressure, but ended up having a bunch of great health benefits. But, if you're thinking to yourself "ehhh, I'm not really into plant-based meals", no worries, there are plenty more diets out there.

U.S. News & World Report ranked diets in specific categories like Best Weight-Loss Diet, Best Fast Weight-Loss Diet, Easiest Diet to Follow, etc. So, based on your life-style, preference, and overall goal you can pick a diet that works best for you.

2017 is the year to pick a diet and stick to it! There will be no broken resolutions, you got this. New Year, new you!

Are you ready? Well then, get your "New Year, new you" self on over to the U.S. News & World Report website and pick the diet that's right for you.
