The Top 10 Most Shoplifted Items This Holiday Season
As the holiday season gets into full-swing, local retailers are not only prepping themselves for huge crowds in their stores, but they are also making prepartations to combat shoplifters. According to the National Association of Shoplifting Prevention, retailers will lose close to $119 Billion due to shoplifters. One in every 11 shoppers will walk out of a store with something they did not pay for. So what are those with the “sticky fingers” looking for, here is what seems be most targeted.
Shoplifters were most likely to walk out with expensive cuts of meat, high-priced booze and electronic items, such as power tools, iPhones and electric toothbrushes, according to the National Association of Shoplifting Prevention. Thieves have also taken a liking to the sweet smell of high-priced perfumes such as Chanel No. 5 — and the not-so-pricey scent of men’s Axe deodorant.
