After a week of back-and-forths with the Recording Academy, Lauryn Hill showed that you can’t keep an elegant lady down. The former Fugees member graced the stage next to The Weeknd for a performance of “In the Night” on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday (Feb. 19).

As we previously reported, L-Boogie was supposed to sing "In the Night" with the Toronto crooner at the 2016 Grammy Awards but it never happened. Recording Academy president Neil Portnow accused her of being unprofessional, while Ms. Hill's rep accused the Grammy producers of mishandling the situation.

Hill made up for it with her appearance on Jimmy Fallon. Donning some cool-looking circular sunglasses and a camouflage-inspired scarf, the 40-year-old rapper-singer performed several lines from The Weeknd's chart-topping song.

We must also mentioned that songwriter-producer Stephan Moccio performed on piano during their performance. Moccio co-wrote and co-produced three songs on The Weeknd’s album, Beauty Behind the Madness, including “Angel” and “Earned It,” which garnered him and The Weeknd their first Oscar nomination for Best Original Song.

After the performance, Weeknd and Hill lovingly hugged each other. Hill sort of chuckled a little as if to say, "see Grammy Awards, if you would have been more courteous, this could have been your moment."

Either way, The Weeknd and Lauryn Hill shine brightly onstage together.

Later, the two-time Grammy-winning crooner went on his Twitter account to thank Ms. Hill for gracing him with her presence. "Most important experience of my life. Thank you Ms. Hill," he tweeted.

Somewhere, Recording Academy President Neil Portnow is sitting at home and feeling some of type of way.
