Tom Hanks Adorably Drops an F-Bomb on ‘Good Morning America’ [VIDEO]

Coffee is said to be the universal morning pick-me-up, but Tom Hanks certainly jolted a lot of people awake on Friday morning when he accidentally let an expletive fly on 'Good Morning America' -- thus giving our long-standing love affair with all things Hanks yet another exclamation point.

During Tom's appearance to promote his new movie 'Cloud Atlas,' 'GMA' host Elizabeth Vargas asked him to speak in the same weird accent he uses in the film.

“Most of it is swear words,” he warned, but Vargas replied, “Well, if you say it in an accent like that they won’t notice."

So Tom gave it a whirl, but the words “I want people to [effing] ..." came out before he even realized they had -- causing him to instinctively clamp a hand over his mouth as Vargas laughed and apologized to viewers.

“I am so sorry, I have slipped into a brand of acting, I have never done that before,” Hanks said. “I want to apologize to the kids in America that are watching right now, and let me say that the next time I am on ‘Good Morning America’ there will be a seven second delay.”

A spokesperson for 'GMA' later issued a boilerplate apology (subtext: "Please don't sue us"), but never mind all that. The takeaway is TOM HANKS SWORE ON LIVE TV. And that only endears him to us all the more.
