Idaho along with Colorado had to replace or remove their 420 mile marker signs with 419.9 after consistently having to replace them.

According to TIME , April 20th is linked to the cannabis culture. Some say '420' is a code for police officers. The most credible story goes back to 1971.

An article written by Huffington Post says that five students at a high school in California would meet everyday at 4:20 pm to smoke some weed. They're known as "the Waldos." They would use the code 420 to let each other know it was time to partake.
