Tyrann Mathieu Reaction To Being Drafted By Arizona Cardinals — In Slow Motion [VIDEO]

Tyrann Mathieu has traveled a rocky road, but things seem to be smoothing out for the former LSU standout after being drafted by the Arizona Cardinals with the seventh pick in the third round of the 2013 NFL draft on Friday. Surrounded by family and loved ones, emotions ran wild as live cameras caught the Honeybadger's reaction to being selected as the 69th pick overall.

There are just as many tears as cheers, which is understandable; given Mathieu's struggle with arrests and drug addiction that got him cut from the LSU Tiger football team, and ultimately threatened his chances of making it to the NFL. While Mathieu's reaction is clearly one of relief and gratitude, the reaction that has been getting the most press is that of his girlfriend - Sydni Paige Russell. The image (above) of Sydni with her hands in the air upon receiving the draft news has definitely made it's rounds on the internet.

Look, I'm sure Sydni - a cheerleader for the New Orleans Pelicans (formerly the Honeybees) - is just excited that the wait is finally over -- but the common term being thrown around the brutal world wide web in reference to her ecstatic reaction, is 'Gold Digger.'

According to reports, the two have been together since 2011, and have made it through rough patches in both the relationship and Mathieu's personal life. Gold Digger? Or just a girlfriend excited that the dark days are behind them?
